Chiropractic Care
Chiropractors are experts in keeping the spine properly aligned so that clear messages can travel to and from the brain and throughout the body. They provide non-invasive care to determine issues that affect your body’s movement, impact your quality of life, alleviate pain, and support your optimal wellness during fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.
Many families like chiropractic adjustments because they are a completely drug-free path to helping your body heal naturally.
The WOMB provides chiropractic care for families of all ages and stages.
Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic Medicine seeks to identify and treat the root cause of illness and see your body as a whole system functioning together rather than a set of symptoms. Using your body’s ability to heal and effective natural therapies, naturopathic Medicine can help you feel optimal today and prevent disease tomorrow. Treatment options include clinical Nutrition, lifestyle counseling, Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, B12 injections, herbal Medicine, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, and physical Medicine.
Our Naturopaths have a passion for helping families with pre-conception & fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, infants & children, and overall family medicine.
Massage Therapy
The WOMB specializes in massage for fertility enhancement, pregnancy, caesarean scar tissue release, postpartum recovery, and infant massage. Massage is sometimes just an opportunity for a \”break\” and to let someone else take care of you.
The WOMB also offers massage therapy to ALL members of the family. So yes, men, partners, grandparents, and other family members are invited to come in and enjoy the incredible energy and space!
Fertility
Regularly receiving fertility massage provides many benefits for your reproductive system. Some of the benefits are:
- Helps to reduce stress & stress hormones
- Increases circulation to the uterus & cervix
- Improves endocrine system communication
- Encourages the liver to get rid of excess hormones
- Promotes hormonal balance by strengthening the hormonal feedback loop
- Helps the body to rid itself of old stagnant blood and tissues
Pregnancy
Studies indicate that massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce your anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, reduce swelling and edema, and improve your birth outcomes and your newborn’s health.
Postpartum
Postpartum massage can be as important and beneficial as massage during pregnancy. Unique postpartum benefits include regulating your hormones, reduced swelling, better sleep for you and your baby, and improved breastfeeding (chestfeeding). More advanced therapy helps restore your body to its pre-pregnancy condition, speeds healing, and assists with caesarean birth recovery through scar work.
Physiotherapy
Orthopedic physiotherapy focuses on the health and function of your musculoskeletal system — including your bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, joints, and connective tissues. Your physiotherapist will carefully assess your condition to create a personalized treatment plan that supports mobility, strength, and recovery. With a compassionate and evidence-based approach, they’ll guide you in managing your current concerns, restoring balance, and preventing future injury so you can move and feel your best.
Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a manual form of therapy, including craniosacral therapy, that uses palpation and manipulative techniques to restore balance to your muscles, joints, nerves, connective tissue, and internal organs. Osteopathy focuses on finding the cause of your pathology or pain, treating all your systems and their connections in the body, and returning you to a state of health.
Osteopathic treatments can benefit the whole family! Osteopathy can help with pain, injury, and systemic illnesses.
The WOMB’s manual osteopathic practitioners focus on fertility, pregnancy, postpartum along with infants and children.
Infants and Children
Infants: During life inside the womb or the birth process, they may experience prolonged compressed positions in the pelvis, the cord around their neck, or distress as a result of forceps, vacuum, or cesarean procedures. In most cases, by gentle and thorough assessment and manual treatment, osteopathy can help alleviate those symptoms for your baby. Osteopathy can help if your baby presents with:
- Colic, constipation, regurgitation (excessive spitting up)
- Tongue tie, latching/feeding difficulties, mouth breathing
- Torticollis, plagiocephaly (flat head), limited neck mobility
- Sleeping disorders, confusing day and night sleeping
- Ear, throat, and nose concerns such as otitis/ ear infections
Children: Osteopathy also takes care of other developmental stages in your child’s life as they become adolescents and adults. These include:
- Dental-orthodontic procedures (braces, etc.)
- sports injuries
- postural problems
- difficulties focusing or concentrating at school
Fertility
Osteopathy seeks to restore any structural or biomechanical imbalances that may be causing dysfunction in your reproductive system – both in men and women.
Pregnancy and Postpartum
Osteopathic treatments can help your body accommodate the transformations your pregnant body is going through. Osteopathy can treat low back pain, neck pain, morning sickness, heartburn, constipation, frequent urination, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, and circulatory issues.

Pelvic Physiotherapy
Even though pelvic floor challenges are common, they are treatable, and you should not have to live with them. Pelvic Health Physiotherapy can help you regain control, maximize function and recovery, and improve your well-being. An internal examination is required to treat the pelvic floor.
Fertility
Many conditions that cause pelvic pain, such as endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, and pelvic congestion syndrome, have also been connected to infertility. The combined care of fertility specialists and physiotherapists has led to increasingly successful outcomes. The WOMB’s pelvic health physiotherapists use a combination of evidence-based manual therapies, neuromodulation techniques, and exercise prescriptions to optimize your pelvic region’s health so that your body is more receptive to conception.
Pregnancy and Birth
Pelvic girdle pain is very common during pregnancy and is characterized by pain in the pelvic region that is worse when you are changing positions – such as rolling over in bed. In addition to treating this problem, The WOMB’s physiotherapists will help you prepare for birth by teaching you about the pushing stage and your function post-birth. Research studies confirm that women who learn to train their pelvic floors properly during pregnancy have shorter, less painful labors, less soft tissue damage, and faster recoveries.
Postpartum
The pelvic floor muscles are like any other skeletal muscle in the body, and they need to be restored after childbirth – whether vaginally or by caesarean. Through specialization in pelvic floor rehabilitation, The WOMB’s pelvic health physiotherapists ensure that any bladder issues (“leaking with laughing”), connective tissue separation of your abdomen (“mummy tummy” or diastasis recti), or any lingering causes of pelvic or back pain, are all corrected for optimal physical function.
Beyond
In the stage of menopause, your body, including your pelvis, changes due to fluctuations in your hormones, namely a reduction in your estrogen. Bone and bladder health are two areas of crucial consideration during this time. Applying their expertise in urogynecology, The WOMB’s pelvic health physiotherapists can assist you in restoring your bladder function and optimizing overall mobility.
Holistic Nutrition
Holistic Nutrition is all about embracing the theory of bio-individuality. This is the concept that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to your nutrition and overall health. We are all unique individuals with different biological make ups and therefore our requirements are very individual. For this reason, a Holistic Nutrition approach to any health recommendations, whether they are diet, supplement or lifestyle changes, are made specifically to YOU. The purpose is to harmonize the whole body by taking into consideration the complex relationship between the physical, mental, emotional, AND spiritual health of an individual. Meal plans, recipe ideas, and supplements are often included in your recommendations.
Therapy & Counselling
Life can sometimes feel hectic, overwhelming, and uncertain. There can be a lot of stress associated with fertility, having a family, changing relationships, and life in general. At The WOMB, you are in the hands of a compassionate team of psychotherapists, social workers, and counselling professionals dedicated to providing unwavering support. The WOMB’s counselling services combine various strategies and interventions that can assist you in understanding and overcoming challenges you may face in your mental wellness and as you transition into different stages of your life.
Counselling can help with the following:
- Birth trauma
- Body image issues
- Couples therapy
- Infertility
- Interrupting unhealthy patterns
- Overwhelm and chaos
- Panic and anxiety attacks
- Parenting challenges
- Relationship stress
- Separation / Divorce
- Social anxiety and awkwardness
Fertility
The process of trying to conceive can often introduce a range of social, emotional, physical, and relationship-related stressors. Fertility coaching and counseling are crucial in assisting individuals and couples in effectively managing these stresses. These services can help you navigate the complexities of choices and available options on your path to parenthood or expanding your family, offering support and guidance throughout the journey.
Grief & Loss Counselling
Experiencing a loss, whether it’s the loss of a pregnancy, a baby, or a loved one, can be an overwhelmingly emotional and personal journey. The healing process is unique to each individual. The WOMB’s skilled coaches and counselors are here to assist you in navigating your emotions, fears, and thoughts, providing support and guidance to help you heal during this challenging time.
Postpartum Depression, Anxiety and other Mood Disorders
Introducing a new baby into the family can present challenges, regardless of how well-prepared, anticipated, or loved the child is. It’s common to experience \”baby blues,\” but in some cases, these feelings may be indicative of a Perinatal Mood or Anxiety Disorder (PMAD). PMAD can significantly impact your ability to care for both your child and yourself. It is crucial for the well-being of your entire family that you seek support and counseling from a therapist experienced in addressing PMADs. Your therapist will work with you to help you regain a healthier state of well-being and foster a more positive parenting experience.
If you are feeling distraught or thinking about hurting yourself or anyone else, please get professional help immediately.
Fitness, Yoga & Pilates
The WOMB offers classes for everyone! Pilates, Yoga, and Baby & Me classes are available.
Our instructors have all had extensive training in prenatal and postnatal fitness, pilates, and yoga to ensure they are there to support you every step of the way on your wellness journey.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a gentle and effective therapy to support health and balance. It can be used for a variety of concerns, such as pain, sleep, stress, anxiety, digestive concerns, fertility, pregnancy, labour induction, and more. Generally painless and relaxing, tiny needles are inserted along energy meridians to stimulate balance and improve function.
For fertility, acupuncture can regulate the menstrual cycle, thicken the uterine lining, and support implantation. For those going through assisted reproductive therapies such as IUI or IVF, it has been proven to increase success rates and pregnancy rates.
For pregnancy, many common concerns, such as nausea, sciatic or pelvic pain, swelling, and insomnia, can be alleviated with a few acupuncture sessions. It is also a great option in the final weeks of pregnancy to prepare the body for labour to reduce the need for medical induction or interventions such as epidural, forceps, vacuum, or emergency Caesarean births.
Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy
Myofunctional therapy is retraining the tongue and orofacial muscles for proper functioning to benefit the whole body. Myofunctional therapy targets four main goals – correct tongue posture, nasal breathing all day & night, maintain lip seal, and correct swallow pattern. Myo can be beneficial for children (4+ years) and adults alike.
Doula Support
The word \”doula\” is an ancient Greek word that has come to mean an experienced and trained birth worker over time and through re-invention.
A doula or labour support person will bring physical and emotional tools to your labour and birthing process so that you feel safer, more comfortable, capable, advocated for, and empowered. Doulas are knowledgeable, supportive, compassionate, resourceful, open and accepting. Your Doula will want you to feel that every decision you and your birthing partner make is 100% respected.
Doulas have received specific training to equip parents with the education and guidance around:
- what to expect during pregnancy,
- how to have a more confident and joyous birth and
- the ins and outs of parenting a newborn.
How do you know if a doula is right for you?
We encourage you to book a complimentary consultation with one of our doulas to discuss your options. A doula will meet with you and your partner (or someone supporting you) at The WOMB, in your home, or virtually.
It is recommended that you connect with The WOMB as early in your pregnancy as possible so that we can start you off with the perfect support. Last-minute support may also be available, but we don’t want you to be disappointed if there isn’t.
Lactation Support
